You may know EA as simply a company that creates and publishes games, but we’re pretty sure the company is full of wizards. How else can you explain conjuring up between $10 and $15 million dollars? That’s what the Online Pass has helped the company do, CFO Eric Brown revealed (via Gamasutra).

“The revenues we derive from that haven’t been dramatic. I’d say they’re in the $10-$15 million range since we initiated the program,” he said. First introduced last year for EA Sports titles, the Online Pass quickly spread to a majority of EA’s games. Now, plenty of other third-party publishers utilize the same code system.

It was introduced to combat lost revenue from used game sales and, we’d say, a wild success, if not just straight-up magic.

If you happen to be in NYC, San Francisco, or Houston next week, you’ll be able to celebrate the launch of Kirby: Mass Attack in true Kirby style — with a display of gluttony. Nintendo is bringing “Kirby Snack Attack” trucks to those three cities, providing fans with game demos and “frozen fruit treats,” which should be of particular interest to those in Houston who accidentally find themselves outside, in range of the deadly sun.

Kirby’s truck will be in NYC’s Rockefeller Plaza (also home to the Nintendo World Store) on September 14, somewhere in the SF Bay Area on September 14-15, and in Houston’s Upper Kirby neighborhood (get it?) from September 16-18. Nintendo will tweet more specific information as the dates approach. Please don’t get ice cream on the DS demo units.

<!–

Previous news about Need For Speed: The Run has made a big deal about the fact you can get out of the car, but let’s face it, being in the car will get you across the country much faster, and heck, it’s just plain more fun. And when you’re in a car, you could do a lot worse than a Porsche 911 Carrera S, which you can see in action in the video above.

The car is unfortunately only available in the Limited Edition of the game, which is available for preorder right now, and arrives with the title on November 15. That said, even when you’re in one of these babies, driving it through the snow and curvy roads of the mountains might be plenty of fun, but can’t really be recommended in terms of safety. If you’re going to drive up there, it’s probably much better to go in something much more practical. Something with four-wheel drive, perhaps.

I got a rock.

Lest you somehow missed the giant, anthropomorphic boulder careening toward your PC, you should probably know that Rock of Ages is now available on Steam. The smashing title can be had for $10. If you (sc)rolled past our review last week, now would be the perfect time to crack it open and round out your boulder knowledge.
